Dr. Wim Timmermans Appointed Arbitrator at the Kazakhstan International Arbitration Court
Early December, the chairman of the Kazakhstan International Arbitration Court (KMA), Academician Professor Suleimenov, appointed Dr Wim Timmermans arbitrator. The Kazakh Arbitration hears disputes between parties from different countries, often involving Kazakh law but also law from other jurisdictions. Currently, 28 foreign, i.e., non Kazakh, experts are on the list of arbitrators. Dr. Timmermans is the only expert from The Netherlands.
Wim Timmermans is an expert in the field of international business law with special focus on the legal systems of the former Soviet Union. He is also on the list of arbitrators of MKAS (International Commercial Arbitration Court, Moscow); International Court of Commercial Arbitration in Kiev, LCIA (London) and TAMARA (Amsterdam-Rotterdam). Timmermans also teaches Russian law at Leiden University in the Russian Studies program.
